Information about the e-Learning Materials

Contract
A three-year contract, commenced in March 2006, which enabled Welsh Networking to provide market leading e-Learning solutions in technical IT training and associated skills to its customers.  Talks have begun on forming a new contract when the current one expires at the end of February 2009.

There are many benefits and added extras that should attract the interest of member organisations amongst which are:

Features

• Joining the scheme costs £800 + VAT for 50 employees.  Additional users may be added at a cost of £400 + VAT per 25 employees. These rates are per annum for each remaining year of the contract which expires at the end of February 2009. 

• Access to 580 skills modules covering the major IT qualifications Cisco, Microsoft and Novell and introductory technician courses such as A+ and Network+.  Additional courses including end user desktop and business skills are also available.  The complete list to date can be found at www.wnl.net/course-list

• Online courseware hosted by the learning provider SkillSoft enables the learner to study anywhere at anytime.

• Ability to add additional desktop and technical courses at £25 plus VAT per annum per additional course for the remaining duration of the contract.  These may be added in multiples of five.

• Enrolled students in organisations connected to the JANET network can use the facilities. Note that these can only be added in batches of ten.  Please email elearning@wnl.net for further information.

• Provisions have been made within the contract to enable all Regional Network Operators and organisations connected to the JANET network to buy into this Agreement and it is hoped that many organisations connected to JANET and some IT departments of local authorities will take advantage of this.

e-Learning Environment
The WNL solution enables you to study at your own pace, at a time that suits you and at any location. 

With pre-course assessment, the system tailors the training to the specific needs of the individual. The student is able to study in bite-sized chunks and together with the aid of graphics, audio, simulation, interaction and tests they are kept alert and enthused.  

Knowledge bases empower the student to ask questions and receive a tailored training module to resolve their problem.

e-Learning Provider
SkillSoft has a worldwide base of over 3,000 organizations and more than 10 million licensed users. Customers span business, government and education sectors. There are over 6,600 courses covering IT, cross-functional business skills, functional area expertise and workplace compliance subjects.
