Overview
WNL is the company created by the consortium of Higher Education Institutions in Wales that formally operated the first South Wales Metropolitan Area Network (SWMAN).

WNL's purpose is to provide a regional high bandwidth network (South Wales MAN) to support collaboration between institutions for learning, teaching and research, using existing and emerging networked applications.

Company Structure
The Board of Directors is responsible for the overall governance and long-term strategy of the company, with the board comprising nominated representatives from nine of the WNL consortium institutions.

The day to day operational and financial management of the company is carried out by Company Officers, with technical assurance provided by a Management Committee. This is a larger group made up of Heads of IT and Computer Service Managers, and also includes two representatives from the Further Education sector to represent the views of FE members.
